Who we are |
We are a family-owned show pig operation, formerly based in SW Iowa. Ron Smith and his daughter, Jennifer (Smith) Slagle and her husband, Don, are the partners behind WinMor Farms. Ron Smith was well-known for raising champions in the 1990s while his children were young enough to exhibit. The legacy included championships at the American Royal (’92, ’93), Houston Livestock Show (’94, ’95) the Iowa State Fair (’96, ’97, ‘98) and AKSARBEN (‘95).
After his kids left home, Ron “retired” from raising his own show-pigs. Today,with the promise of future showmen (grandkids) on the horizon, he figured it was time to dust off the show-box and get back in the ring. We are very excited about our “debut” in 2009 and welcome the opportunity to help you select your next champion. |

| While times have undoubtedly changed and a new century has unfolded, our principles remain the same. We know the hard work and dedication it takes to win and we are ready to meet the challenge. We salute parents who make the show-ring both a learning and family-bonding experience. We, too, were a family who took no vacations without the pig trailer attached to the pick-up truck! |

Our Herd |
| One of our fundamental beliefs is that in order to produce great barrows -consistently- you need great mothers. We settle for nothing less than exceptional females. We have carefully selected an elite core of females which remain the foundation of our herd. We believe that by raising the bar and maintaining discipline in replacement gilt selection, we will consistently generate barrows that can win at the highest levels of competition. |
